I'm currently planning on doing the 50k, although seriously undertrained. I just love the course. And you can get in the COLD springs after. I hear there were manatees last year. I hope we're that lucky!! Tallahassee Ultra

Be aware that the white loop is no more, at least from Jack's Hill to the overlook. And you can't get to the yellow loop because the army bridge was washed away.

There was no official GUTS photographer for the 2009 MMM. But I'll gladly post any photos on the Flckr site anyone sends to me. There are a ton of photos on various Facebook pages, but I won't get those because 1) that's stealing and 2) I don't have the time. Will the 2009 MMM pictures be posted online at Flickr? Also, does anyone know where I can find the 2009 MMM results for the Marathon and the 12-miler? Thanks!

I'm riding the Tour de Pink on Saturday, October 17 as a benefit for the Young Survivors Coalition. The funds raised by the Tour de Pink will help the YSC focus on education and outreach opportunities and provide peer-to-peer support for newly diagnosed young women. The 2009 ride is more than an event with cyclists. It’s a chance to honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness in the community and support important local programs for young women with breast cancer. My minimum goal is $250, which will earn me the coveted Tour de Pink jersey. Please consider making a donation to my ride: ----> Sarah's Online Donation Page <----

You don't get much other than the race for you $75; water for aid and a long sleeve cotton t-shirt for finishing. Oh boy, $75 for water and yet another cotton t-shirt. I think not! This is the kind of situation where I wonder just where in hell the money goes and how much the RD is pocketing. Sorry, the RD in me can't help it. I'm a believer in charging only what you have to and giving 'em more than they need.

I'm absolutely horrible at explaining, but if you'll just put the url up I'll modify it so it's a link. Then you can look at the markup to see how it's done Hey Sean, I'm very interested, especially since I just mailed my entry for the Hinson Lake 24 hour ;D Where is the loop posted online? How do I send or post a route I made on map my run? it is exactly a 1.12 mile loop just like hot to trot though this loop is not as flat ;D

Hinson Lake is a 24 hour run in Rockingham NC. It's on Sept 19-20. The drive is part of the attraction to me...ONLY 5-1/2 hours. I'd definitely drive up Friday afternoon and get a good night's rest. I've already talked a friend into crewing for me. I love 24 hour runs but haven't done one in several years. I would be seriously undertrained, so wouldn't do well, but it would give me a reason to train. And, like I said, I really enjoy 24 hour runs. Just weird that way. More info: Hinson Lake 24 Hour Run

So who's doing Hinson Lake on Sept 19? I'm toying with the idea myself. May need a ride up since Ray'm has to work Friday night and wouldn't be able to join me until Saturday.

Good luck runners. Sarah are you still looking for volunteers or supplies/fluid/food donations? I live around the corner and can help out if you need some extra hands. Yes, yes, and yes! ;D Where is "around the corner"? Closer than Sunnybrook? We don't have running water at the Preserve so have to make trips to Ray's house on Sunnybrook for refills. Having something closer would be awesome!

[...the area near "yellow jacket hill" is quite overgrown and the poison ivy is in full swing. There were also two 10 inch trees down between "yellow jacket hill" and the bamboo. Sweet! ;D Hey folks, don't let these reports scare you. The back trail goes through a miraculous transformation the week prior to the race. Chef Raymon' & I sacrifice blood, sweat & tears for you! Update: went for a run on the course this evening and we'll be scheduling a trail work day asap ;D

Just for planning. What % of the course is shaded, if any? Need to figure out a sun protection plan so I don't crisp. Pretty much all of it. There is one section at high noon that is open, but the entire course is heavily wooded. I think there's more sun at the start/finish than anywhere!
