Sarah, Andrew responded back. He said "can dew" on the recipe, and he will log on tonight.

Yep, it was me. Thats my goto recipe for easy and tasty candy. never had it fail (ok once.. do not use dark corn syrup) Andrews peanut brittle: 2 cups of sugar 1/2 cup clear (light) corn syrup 2 cups (or 1 12 oz. can) salted party peanuts 1 tablespoon baking soda salt (i use kosher, but regular table salt is cool too) start out by preparing what you will pour it onto. i use a marble slab with plenty of non-stick cooking spray on it. you 'can' use something like wax paper, but it's > 300 degrees when it comes out of the pan and is molten lava. you want something that wont melt. put the 2 cups of sugar and 1/2 cup corn syrup into a medium size pot, cook on medium heat till its 230 on a candy thermometer stirring occasionally to make sure it does not burn. at 230, add in the peanuts and stir constantly until it reaches 300. it will turn the pretty brown color of brittle ~270-280, keep going till 300 , then take off heat very quickly add the soda, stir a few times to make sure the color is even and turn onto the slab. I have used a teaspoon or 2 of vanilla before the soda to give it a vanilla flavor, also used Jack Daniels.. gave it a awesome whisky flavor. or the best really is just plain. do not try to spread it with anything. it will spread out on its own. touching it will cause it to fall flat. while its still hot sprinkle the salt on it to your tasting. wait till it cools, break apart. Glad you enjoyed it. It really is my favorite recipe, and one i can literally quote off my head i've made it so often. Maybe next time it'll get put out on the table (ummmm... I think you hid it personally, but hey... at least it got consumed If anyone wants I'll make more for the FA in January. If ya ask nice i'll even bring my triple chocolate chip cookies.. but you wont get that recipe outta me Andrew
