I would love to try something like that one day, But not a week after Ironman Florida. Maybe next year. I am at 12 cents so I will need the time to gather more pennies.

...What I would like to know is do any of y'all have a profile of the course?? ... Todd might have that. Have you tried emailing him? I forgot to report a penny and a dime that I found at the gas station last week. ($0.11) Today I had another major score, but I need a ruling on if it has any value! I went down to the river to run but forgot that I had taken the pass out of my car (my wife thought she might beed it). So, I had to pay $3.00 to run ... but when I opened the drawer on the new automatied machine to get my ticket, I found a silver dollar! My question is, did I find a dollar or lose a net two dollars becasue I had to pay to park. I figure I was paying anyway and the found money is a bonus!

;D Sarah was sitting at the fountain at the Walking Horse Hotel at the Finished of the Strolling Jim, where she strolled in with style and was cooling her feet. ;D Sarah mentioned that there would be two GUTS aid stations at the Pinhoti to support the runners. This is a major contrubition from GUTS and shows us runners have comittment from the members of our club. Most of these volunteers will spend their time and their money, just to be there when we need it to support us runners. Well, I wish to say thanks now. The trail will get lonely and hard and take most of what we have to complete the run, at least for me. Althought I may stay only a few minutes at these stations, I will never forget who was there to help for a lifetime. On our adventure these aids stations are our Lighthouses for our journey. gitagoing

I'm heading out for the Pinhoti 100 for my first 100 miler. I'm trying like everything to find a running coach to help me out. Does anyone here know of some coaches that could help me with setting out a plan? Thanks! -Michael Watson

;D Mike you don't need a coach. One of the reasons for the Pinhoti Piggy Bank is to be a coach. ;D
The Piggy Bank will be your guide, if you learn to understand the purpose. I know the Pinhoti Piggy Bank is devilish, but if you try and fill the Piggy Bank, you will have a great time at Pinhoti 100 mile run.
A few of the Pinhoti runners understand the concept. We will not be looking for treasure on the actual run, but we will be prepared by finding treasure for the Pinhoti Piggy Bank. If you seek Pinhoti treasures, I think you will be prepared for a 100 mile run.
Join in the quest to fill your Pinhoti Piggy Bank. Appears I'm leading in mileage so far, because gitagoing's Piggy Bank is fuller. (Just a clue)
Only found a penny today, but found five tire weights and four aluminum serving trays. I had to cut thro the Lonesome woods because I can only carry so much.
Three hours out, I had to cancel the rest of the run, because I had no support and was very tired.
But It's cool, because it's training.
On the Pinhoti you will need to hang in.

One of our members is a Sports Factory coach. Anyone know who that is? Nope. I looked through the list of coaches on that site, and I saw a coach for "Stationary Training". I'm not sure what that is, but "stationary" is sounding pretty good after trying to do 7 in the heat this afternoon!

git that made no sense at all. He's trying to find a coach, not tire weights. Geesh, keeping you people on topic is like herding cats!

Tomorrow is the day I need to decide. And please tell me in a brief message why? My gosh - all the poetic sharing you do ...all the intensity with regards to training ...all the straight talk about what's necessary for real results vs. just gettin' it done... ...and you're asking for others to help you make the decision? I say do it. As much as it is seemingly on your mind, I can't imagine a decision NOT to do it... is this really what you're asking? or am I missing some enigmatic Git thing, and the point of the post is just sailing over my head?

Who from GUTS is gonna be going to this race (racing/ or volunteering)? I'm crewing Lane and trying to see what familiar faces he's gonna run in to out there. He'll need all the encouragement (help) he can get since he's coming strait from doing the Florida Ironman the week before

I'm doing it. (Spurgeon Hendrick)
Jon Obst is doing it.
Javi De Jesus is going to pace me ... if I can make it to 80. Tony Gonzalez will be there ... hopefully pacing me at some point .. (if not running it himself! Tony, I still say you should sign up! You're in a heckuva lot better condition than I am!!)
Is Larry still doing it?
Janice and Sally talked about doing an aid station.
Prince Whatley is doing it.
There are others but my brain just locked up. I'll think of some more in a little while.
*edit* the Pinhoti website is down right now so I can't check the list to jog my memory! Todd sent out an email and said it will be back up in a day or two.
