Maybe we could have a cripple invalid theme? if mental invalidity counts, i will be theme worthy. i plan on being there for both aid stations. i will have a radio on hand listening to the alabama/lsu game during some of that time too.

Station #14 requires SUVs or trucks to get to. So, for those that want to volunteer at that one, we will need to figure out a carpooling plan of some sort.

And, if someone else pays for the gas to get my truck to Alabama, they can use it to. You know just in case you have to cross a river, or a bog, or climb real big rocks....just in case. I may need to borrow Jason's gun rack though. lol Lane

Are there any updates, after I posted to my friends on Facebook, I have people asking me about Lane and Mike, whoever else is running. I hope you guys are ok and had a good run. I ran the darkside 50k and was freezing/ hurting and was inspired to push on by you guys. I told my son that Lane was probably still running from early saturday and his jaw dropped. LOL.

Well, I survived. Special thanks to Lane for keeping me going through the night and to Tony and Javi for pacing me the last 25 miles. I don't really remember too much of Tony pacing me ... I think I was asleep for most of that leg!! I just remember him yelling "no sleeping!" just to keep us awake. LOL! And thanks to all of the GUTS folks who showed up! It's amazing what seeing a familiar face will do for your spirits! BTW - the fried egg sandwiches were a lifesaver! And they were delicious! (if I ever see another peanut butter and jelly sandwich, it will be too soon!) and Sarah, thanks for the pacing card! It came in really handy! At mile 50 it showed us that we were an hour ahead of 24 hour pace! ... and at mile 85, it showed us that if we didn't get our butts moving, we were going to miss the cutoff! The winning time was 20:51 (I didn't catch the name). Mike Cosentino's time was 21:51. My time was 26:47.

Of yes and congrats to all those who finished, this was a monster tough coarse, maybe I may put a race report together. Although Spurgeon could do it for me we ran from mile 40-90 together! Everyone did an awesome job! Everyone kept asking about "us GUTS people". having a camaraderie like that is pretty cool, thanks to everyone who made this happen.
