February 15th at 7:30 at the Main Office/Visitor Center. I checked their calendar and there are no events that day.

Still planning this?
I'm planning on heading up there this Sunday for a long run, (2/8). Going the following weekend for something casual is also a possibility.

I'll Be at The Thrill in the Hills! Those Xterra runs are fun as hell! Would love to know how the course is, if anyone knows?

I think Thrill in the Hills is 2 weeks after this. (2/28 or 3/1) But mostly the same trails. It's casual, clear hardpacked dirt. Only 1 real hill if you go clockwise. (Which would be going the same direction as the bikers on a Sunday, so should probably go opposite. Plus TitH is clockwise, so the other direction is a nice change of pace.) I think the shortest loop is around 8 miles. Can get up to 13-14 without difficulty. (Some friends and I are currently debating if you can get shorter and make it around the lake.) Thrill in the hills is a fun race, if your not doing it as part of a longer run. (Yeah, it was my first ultra experience, doing it as the back half of my 29 miler.) Note that this is a state park, so bring your annual pass/3 bucks/friend that has money.

The inner loop is 6 miles if you cross over the bridge instead of going around that end of the lake. Inner loop blazes are yellow. Outer loop blazes are blue. The loops share the trail in some locations. I'll be at Thrill in the Hills as well. Just a short day after Black Warrior.

Dang, missed the GUTS army this morning. Too bad, I was looking forward to a good invasion to get the blood rolling.
I showed up at 8, thinking that was the time. I don't know why I didn't see the 7:30 message. (And I know someone else was there at 8:15.)
Had a great run, with about 10.5 miles. Only saw 1 biker, and since it was someone I know, he didn't run me off the trail.
