This was an unofficial run for a couple of years. Can anyone tell me how long it is and the route you use to take?

Sounds like a fun challenge. From a quick mapquest: www.mapquest.com/mq/3-dt3ISeaiBYnq_1fkvh9rBut I have no idea whether you could run any of those roads, or would have to take a more fine-tuned approach (probably!) to prepare a safer route. Cheers!

I seem to remember somebody saying there was no "official" route. I think the idea was for each runner to go whichever route they thought was best.
Janice might have done this one. Maybe she knows the best route.

rich "held" the event several times. i ran it twice (what was i thinking? ). we never had more than 20 folks and it was all self supported i can give several routes that are GOOD. But each year it was held, there was an official route. the basics - run to top of stone mtn and back down. then run to ponce (de leon ave),which eventually turns into Lavista, then into Lindbergh, eventually dead-ending into Peachtree (yes, THE Peachtree). From there a right turn and then a left onto Paces Ferry Rd which eventually crosses I75 and the Chattohoochee and into Cobb county. from there, multiple routes can be taken. the OLD route was to run to atlanta rd to windy hill and then to county services which borders/hits kolb farm. the newer route connected to the silver comet trail and then to the park. once connected to the park, you run the trail to pigeon hill and then to the top for the finish. 50++++ miles. My best was just over 7 hours. it was low key, no aid, survive on your own. it was in April to coordinate with Civil war timing (i prefer my birthday which is confederate memorial day, until recently a day off for all state workers) I'd do it next year, if someone else is the RD
