pretty wild stuff, sean. I live not too far from you.
I'm running long tomorrow.
If I have anything left, i'll try to stop by for an hour or two of recovery shuffle.

It was a great day. I had a blast running loops with Sean, Team Beth, Wayne D, and Donald. Big Thanks to Sean's Mom for taking care of all of us!!
Also special thanks to Tom W, Kena, George, Kim F, Beth and Scott, (and maybe others that my addled brain can't recall) for stopping by to watch and encourage for a while.

Thanks for a great run. I came prepared for a simple aid station (water, maybe some carbs and or GUs) and instead found a very well stocked one. A cool (fans!) front porch provided shelter with a great view of the course. Weather: The weather was great overcast for much of the morning including an occasional, (and welcome) light mist. The timing of the afternoon downpour was great since I was tending to a blister at the time. ;D The resulting cooler course was also welcome. Thanks to Sean and assistant RD, Sean's Mom (or was it the other way around?? ) and all who came out to help/spectate.

A BIG thanks to Sean, and his folks, and everyone else for a cool (metaphorically at least - I must've sweated out gallons) day! I know I wouldn't have gotten in nearly the training run I would have if left to my own devices, but with a group it gave me that extra bit of motivation. I didn't hang out to see you finish up your whole 12 Sean but congrats on that dude!
It was nice having a chance to meet some of you folks for the 1st time also - Donald, Kyle, Wayne, the Beth's (yes, yes I AM a beast!), David, Lee, Rick, Agostino (sp?), Kate...
hope to see ya'll again soon...charles

please email or pot your milesand or laps I will update the results
GUYS THIS WAS TRULY EPIC! thank you to everyone who came out and ran or cheered on! TEAM BETH YOU GUYS ROCKED IT...FREAKING SANDBAGGERS!
DAVID RAY GOT ME THROUGH THE LAST 6 HOURS THANK YOU SO MUCH!
also thanks to those people at redtop who sent the food over! much appreciated.
RACE RECAP: AUGOSTINO, DONALD AND MYSELF DID THE WHOLE 12 HOURS.
7 am start ended up starting 5 mins late because TEAM BETH was doing their make up. we all stayed together the first lap as I showed everyone the loop. Good thing I did show everyone because Charles kept trying to take short cuts(haha jk). Starting out was myself, augostino, donald, charles, lee, team beth, and rick. (i think i got everyone there if i forget anyone I am sorry.)
the course starts out flat with a small bump up and then a nice down hill. This then it goes to a fairly nice 2 part uphill. then a steep down hill and a slow up hill until 50 yards from aid station which is flat. the majority of the loop is up hill.
Rick did his marathon and then stopped. he ran quick I think a 4:30! augostino took off fast and did not slow down really until the last 4 hours. team beth went out to just do a marathon and then kept going trying to 1 up the other beth, playing tricks on the other one about possibly stopping or going to the bathroom so they could set out on another lap while the other one wasnt looking. I ended up convincing alot of folks to push them selves further than they had planned to go.
around noon rick and lee had gone. everyone was hanging strong. at this time the Calvary showed up. Kate and David Ray, Wayne and Kyle. wayne and kate took it to a whole new level. I ran a lap with Kate to show her the loop. shes fast! wayne kicked this course's ass! he ran 16 miles running everything except some aid stops. well done! kate went to run 20. david ray hung around with me and we ran and talked for the next 6 hours. he went on to do about 34 or more miles for the day! kena, tom, george, and kim f all stopped by to cheer us on and hang out in the afternoon and cheer us on! thank you so much for that extra boost. with about 2 hours left I was like ok time to kick it into 2nd gear. at this point because i really hadnt been going hard at all during the day i started running what wed all been walking. i ended up running about 8 min miles or less. it felt good i started lapping people and i was having fun. a few neighbors who knew what was going on cheered as i did my final lap and i thanked them. in the end is was David Ray, Augostino, Donald and myself at the very end. what a great group of friends! you guys all rock!
thanks for a great day. i will upload pics soon!
it was an over all great day wit everyone really inspired me at the race and I want to thank everyone for coming out the FIRST SEAN'S RUN LIKE HELLATHON!
AWARDS
Augostino wins for most laps. Im not sure exactly how far but i think he did 1 or 2 more than myself.
Donald wins SEAN's HTFU award. He actually did negative splits and not to mention forced himself through painful blisters, heat, and injury. for this he has my deepest respect(and that takes alot)
David Ray wins Sean's Pabst Blue Ribbon award. This guy ran 6 miles at redtop then brought the extra food over. I felt ok most of the day because i wasnt pushing to hard until the end I think I did like 7-10 laps in the last 1 hr and 45 mins and david got me though this. if it wasnt for him i would have been running alone for 6 hours and may not have finished. he went to run over 32 on the day!
RESULTS
we are still unsure of exact distance but it is 1.085 to 1.1 miles per loop.
Augostino-48 laps? Sean- 47 laps Donald-37 laps raff- 25 laps kate- 20 miles David Ray- 28 miles Lee- 15 laps Wayne- 16 miles

Sorry I missed this run - I live in Brookhaven and would've liked to come by and run with the gang for a bit. Hope you're able to do it again this coming year. Cheers!
