They are looking for volunteers this weekend. If you really want to run though i think they are giving GUTS members a discount They need volunteers to work the water stations and help make sure the runners don;t go the wrong way in a few spots. You get free beer afterwards and during, we will have an ATV brining beer out. You get a New Balance tech running shirt, worth $30 and you get food after the race also, we have a live band also for post race festivities. For those that need to run long on sat, you can help with the race, then run the course we have set out after the race is over. The race atarts at 8 AM, so you will need to be there at 6:30 AM. Here is the link to the race info. www.goodrunproductions.com/graniteGrinder/

Fun race yesterday!
I'm curious...was this year's course the same as last year's? It seems the times were a lot faster this year, so I was wondering if last year's course was different (and perhaps more difficult).
Cheers.

Thanks to Marty and Sally. And good job to both winning your divisions. Beautiful day, great running conditions. Fast challenging trail. especially on the granite portions and a couple fo steep hills. But it was pretty much as advertised. Also they had a live band playing throughout the run, and the trail would pass close by on several occasions. They played bluesy Almand Brother type tunes - and played them pretty well. So it was cool to run out of the woods and closer to the jams from time to time. After the race, they had pizza, bagels, fruits, drinks and cold beer, which went down quite well after the run. The race was well organized and I would definitely do it again.

I ran the race for the first time this year. I enjoyed the mix of terrain, from single track to the granite and then there were a few big hills towards the end. Weather was perfect. Solid race to kick off some spring running.
