Organization Provides Support for Transition from Survivor to Athlete
Atlanta, Georgia, March 24, 2009 - Ultra Endurance legend, San Diego firefighter, and President of World Class Teams, Robyn Benincasa, will be in Atlanta April 20-22 to promote the Project Athena Foundation. Project Athena is a non-profit organization that encourages women who have endured life-altering medical setbacks to unleash the athlete and adventurer within and complete the journey of a lifetime - whether that be to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, cross the finish line of an Iron Man Triathlon, or fall into the arms of a proud family at the end of a local 5K. The Foundation provides ‘Athenaship’ recipients with coaching, equipment, travel expenses, entry fees, and, most importantly, encouragement and inspiration.
Robyn has been featured on television programs such as Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly, NBC’s Jeep World of Adventure Sports, 48 Hours, and Dateline NBC. Her images have graced the pages of Sports Illustrated, Vogue, Outside, Harper’s Bazaar, Muscle and Fitness, US News and World Report, Fast Company, The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times, just to name a few.
Robyn is available for interviews on April 20th and 21st, and will be presenting an adventure racing clinic and speaking about Project Athena at the Big Peach Running Co. store on Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw on April 21st from 6:30-8PM. This event is open to the media.
