How soon does this one fill up? I'm signing up right away with two others but a friend of mine wants to wait until after ING Georgia Marathon. Is it usually filled up by the end of March?

I'll go out on a limb and say probably not. The date changed this year to the end of May. Which is 2 weeks after the Twisted Ankle Marathon and Half which usually fills up. So that may keep some folks from running this one. Maybe. But then I never thought 500 people would be at the Thrill in the Hills Half on such a lovely day. Anyway there's only 35 people listed as registered today. So hard to see it filling up (250) before April.

I really enjoyed the pics too...I am glad you took them as trying to explain those hill repeats is not as easy as you'd think!

Thanks for the report Andrew. We took out the half to allow growth for the 50k, park will only allow so many runners. If your interested, talks have been in the works for a couple of months to bring back the half maybe in Feb. But it will be the original course including one trip to TOTW. Sorry about the creek, unforeseen situation there, we praticed the crossing wednesday before the race and it was much, much worse because of the rain. We were really concerned and took the extra precautions, then no more rain and it wasnt as bad on race day. Ways to avoid that have already been discussed. Thanks again for taking the time to write a report.

This race is getting better and better as the days go by and the pains diminish. It's funny how that works! Just wait - by next year we will have completely forgotten how painful TOTW is. ;D

I really was impressed by the volunteers and race officials. Great work and a great (if slightly evil ) race! A half in February could be fun indeed. Count me in! -- Andrew

Thank god for CRS. All I can think about now is how to get faster next year! I loved the course and can't wait to do it again! It's a disease, I tell 'ya. JT
