Well, I didn't run the race, so I have no reason to post a race report. But heck, I have one anyhow. Afterall, I spent most the morning out there taking pictures and watching people get soaked by the mud. Ah, good times. gonesomewhere.com/?p=393 Here are pictures of the mud pit. I still need to do the rest of the photos. photos.gonesomewhere.com/thumbnails.php?album=23

It was a muddy good time! While when you like to start at the rear of the pack you can't expect to break any records. I was more concerned with not wiping out (I didn't). I passed people crying, talking to them selves and many focused and determined to finish. At the start I talked to a guy in B.D.U. with a 35-40lb pack, we parted just after he took a little mud slide. Just before the first aid station I heard a young lady say she wished she had remembered her Glide. I usually carry too much stuff but this time I was disappointed I couldn’t help someone out. It was interesting the different types of mud areas. I think runners made the course worse by trying to avoid the puddles. The water in those deep puddles near the end of the race was very cold. I was horrified to see a runner after the race with two streams of blood down his shirt from his nipples (ouch). When I got home I jumped into the shower with my clothes on. It took me 30 minutes to get all the mud out of my shoes and socks (not that you can completely get Georgia red clay out of anything). Hope my shoes are dry for the “Runnin the Rocks” race next Saturday.

BigRahn than you so much for the photo. I thought you were with the official crew! You shouted a nice word of encouragement to me as I ran by and thanked you for being out there. That was the muddiest trail run that I have ever participated in and a very rewarding finish. Cheers!

I saw bloody nipple guy-That sucked!
I talked to the guy carrying the pack. Wish I would have seen how he was doing later on. He was hoping for a 2.5 hr finish, but I think that was a bit optimistic for the conditions.
Glad I was out there for you Rob. It was a blast. Hopefully will get the rest of the photos in the next few days, or by next weekend. I always forget how long that can take to clean out the blurry ones.

That was a fun run. Running through the puddles was the best part. I did see a few folks take some nasty spills though.

Big Rahn did great taking the pics in the rain. I also enjoyed the muddy trails, finishing in 2:37. Report at tinyurl.com/bvmvr8 . Good to see Sean and Patrick and Kim and several others that my coffee-deprived brain couldn't comprehend.
