Otherwise the bridge should be open by early? afternoon. (No guarantees though...) No guarantees... Despite a volunteer unwittingly driving off with much need parts Sunday while getting a replacement generator, the project was completed by 3:00 p.m. New John Ward Creek bridge facing south (from end of old bridge) New John Ward Creek bridge facing north (Notice the much smaller, old bridge to the right) The side rails look freakishly high for running, but are at a good height (4 1/2 feet) when you're on horseback. The bridge was designed to carry to load of a car driven over it, but then narrowed to "just" 6 feet so no one would try! I can't wait for a chance to run over the bridge. Can we try to run over it on the Sunday, September 9th GUTS training run?

I was one of the ones turned away and yes I was not happy at first. Of course I didn't complain to the nice young man standing there. Instead my wife and I got to explore the nearby streets and roads to loop around the closer to near the water fountain. May even make it part of our normal route.
I was way more upset to find the water fountian still broken than I was about the trail being closed for improvments. Improve away, we all appreciate it, Thank you.

The Marietta paper has a letter to the editor complaining about horse poop on the bridge. Must really be big if you can get around it.
