Ok, after today, I am now convinced I have CMD (Chronic Misdirection Disorder). I always used the excuse "Well, it was fifty miles..." or "Well its a trail run so its ok" or sometimes even "That old lady took the pumpkin and that's why i did an extra lap, got tired, and added 2 hours to my time..." But then today came along... I started the army boot camp 5K and was tied for first. I led for the first 1.5 miles. I get to an unmarked intersection so what do I do? As always, the EXACT opposite of what I was told. I turn right and realize I'm waaaaaay off. I turn around and come back to find out the two people that i were .3 miles ahead of have passed me. So I charge back up, pass one and hang with the other. We soon get to the sit-up station. He gets out before me and disappears. So, of course I just run back the way I came from (If I'm not mistaken, that's how a loop works...). So I don't even see the guy in front of me. I cross the line and found out that i WON! I look back, and he comes in behind me telling me I took the "Shortcut" So long story short, I actually still went longer than supposed to, but was DQ'd from first. Moral of the story: I'm not sure...

If it were a boot camp run, wasn't their some drill sergeant yelling "Go the right direction Pissant!" or something like that? Almost like you got cheated out of the boot camp experience.

It is kinda strange isn't it? Instead of some mini-hulk yelling at me, I had some kind ladies cheering me on at the boot camp stations. Kinda weird... Oh, yeah thats right, those kind ladies were also the ones who watched me go the wrong way and didn't say a thing... But on a brighter note, Pissant sounds creative. Good morale lifter.
