I see a lot of you are runing Stump Jump next month. Any good tips you can give a newbie on this race would be most appreciated. I keep hearing it is extremely tough.

I think you'll do just fine...I don't think it's extremely tough. If it's hot, just remember to drink a lot of fluids. You'll run across your usual assortment of rocks, sticks, roots, yellow jackets..............climbs........

I've never run Stump Jump, but in general ...
.. you need to train on some technical trails to get your ankles stronger and acclimated to the terrain.
.. you need to do some back-to-back long runs.
.. make sure you eat during the run.
.. stay hydrated.
.. keep moving.

Nils, are you still looking for a ride. I'm not sure if I'm driving, but if you need a ride, I'll drive and we can split the gas.
Let me know.

Its official. I'm driving since a few others have opted out to spend time with their families. Since when is that an excuse.
Anyway, If anyone else needs a ride, Christian and I are taking off from Paces Ferry and 285 at 5am on Saturday morning.
