I'm thinking about seeing a foot doctor to ask about this nagging soreness in my left foot. Anybody got a recommendation for a sports podiatrist on the northeast side of town?
Figured I'd ask before I threw the dart.

David: Check out www.myerssportsmedicine.com. Dr. Meyer has helped me with some knee issues and while he may be more orthopaedic oriented rather than an outright podiatrist, if he's unable to help, he could surely point you in the right direction. Hope this helps. Rob

I went to Village Podiatry, villagepodiatrygroup.com/, a few months ago when I thought I was having problems. They weren't bad, and not too inconvenient for you. (They have an office next to Gwinnett Medical Center off 120.) And they happily humored when when I asked for a copy of my xrays for my blog. (They printed out, I had to scan it in.) That made the whole copay worth it. There is also a sports medicine office in Hoschton. I don't recall the name because I haven't been there, but I recall thinking they were convenient.

+1 on Julien. Julien operated on a friend of mine's heel (kind of like a heel spur) last January and the results have been excellent. He really knows his stuff and is very personable.
Fortunately, *I* haven't had to use him!

Thanks for all the tips!
I had figured Dr. Julien would be the top pick, but I really didn't want to make the drive. His office is inside the perimeter. *gasp*
But a healthy foot is too important to take chances. So I made the appt. (actually with Perry's partner, Dr. Peebles) and went in yesterday.
Nice office with lots of running pics and evidently, all the staff run as well.
Turns out I've got a small bone spur on my big toe metatarsal caused by improper bone length. There's a pic on the blog of what it looks like.
Good news is no surgery and no arthritis. I'm wearing a dance pad on my foot to relieve the pressure and may end up with a custom orthotic.
So thanks again. I appreciate the veterans sharing their expertise.

I hate to 'self advertise' but my wife works on many athletes in here practise. She is a Chiropractor by trade but has many patients who benefit from Trigger Point Therapy/ Deep Tissue work and the Cold Laser. She is a mile from Columns/ J.Ferry. If you need some help you can reach her as follows:
Dr. Ismay Campbell - (678) 238-0400
Good Luck,
Malcolm
