So I'm interested in doing the AT through Georgia over a weekend. Is anyone interested in joining me the weekend of December 20 & 21st?
I know shortest day of the year is not optimal for what would be my longest runs of the year, but I like the idea of an epic run on the Solstice.

we encountered 1 1/2 to 3 ft drifts, very high winds and temps that never got above the lower 20s on sections of the AT on the solstice a couple of years back.
be very wary of the weather on those ridges at this time of year. i have done runs up there twice in the winter where all of my water froze and i started having issues with dehydration after a couple of hours.

What? Getting a needle stuck in your eye wasn't painful enough?
The whole Georgia section in one weekend? In late December?
Can't wait to see the report on this one.
