- that story scared me.
question, deep-down, before you even started, did you feel a little "off"? ...or was a complete shock of a meltdown?
Rockman loves that dirty orange tank, doesn't he?

In the immortal words of the Mars Company ... "Some days you feel like a nut. Some days ya don't." You made the right call. Great report! And thanks for sharing it!
And, as they say, DNF>DNS ... (Did Not Finish is greater than Did Not Start!)

love the DNF>DNS. So true.
The event was brutal to say the least. 95 in the shade if you could find any. It was so hot I literally felt like I was being cooked. Lots of exposure.
I prefer singlet.

perhaps, if it hadn't been for Rockman's lovely chest hair bulging out from under the singlet, I might never have started. what an inspiration! ;D Christian: Truth be told, I was shocked by how badly I did. In retrospect though, I put about 60% of the blame on dehydration (didn't drink enough the night before and morning of; did not take enough in during the event) and 40% on being undertrained and trying to "wing it." With the move and all my travels, my mileage had taken its toll. The longest run since SweetH2O had been 9 or 10 miles, which may have been the only one over an hour. I'm pretty motivated to fix all that. As I said on the blog, running is an honest sport: you get what you put in. In all, I didn't respect the race enough and got what I deserved.

For the record, a lot of ladies really dig the chest hair. It's just too bad they all live in Eastern Europe.

In all, I didn't respect the race enough and got what I deserved. Been there - that was me at Masochist last year. I was so busy pimping my fund raising, I forget to focus on the race. Lesson learned.
