Jason and I went for a run there the same day and we, too, appreciated that water. It was completely unexpected but so needed on that super-humid morning.

Some of them work. The one in the south-east corner of the park near Powder Springs Road works well with a strong flow and is in a convenient location. Given the size of the park, water sources are limited and not always reliable. I have found some fountains that do not seem to be in working order. I appreciate the two individuals who are taking the initiative to help make sure drinking water is available to people using the park. /LM thanks. that's usually the one i need the most

What day is the birthday run? 39 eh? You would have to do 2 loops of the entire park!

You would have to do 2 loops of the entire park! i did two full loops for 36. started at burnt hickory went over the mtns to the visitor center and back then did the loop out to kolb farm and back using the goat trail. i guessed each loop to be 17-18 ish. i figure ill do that then another partial run of the mountain, maybe to the top of k mtn and back. doesnt have to be super exact. i will probably be doing it on july 12 (birthday is on the 14th)

You could do the picnic loop twice. It's approx. 1.5 miles...that would add an additional +/- 3 miles!

It's at the visitor center....across the parking lot where the picnic tables are....there's a nice little loop there.

But don't run it with Sally and Janice or they will take you tromping off through the woods to forge a new trail and you will end up running through briars, barbed wire, assorted other nasties, and your legs will end up looking like you have been tied to a whipping post and horsewhipped with a cat-o'-nine-tails.

;D I agree with Bag of Sand, be careful who you wish to run with ;D
The female members of GUTS will test your Ultra Running capabilities. Fortunately, gitagoing has a great memory.
Many years ago gitagoing was on a training run at Kennesaw Mountain with the Prez and a few other trail runners. Along about 10M Janice said Larry why don't you take the lead and show us the trail. Now I know they were playing with me.
The Ladies of GUTS always recognize weakness when they see it.
Thanks Prez, that was a precious moment and day in my life.
