Saved by the Rockman, I got a ride to the Twisted Ankle Trail Marathon. Great race - here's the obligatory report: run50miles.org/2008/05/19/twisted-ankle-trail-marathon-race-report/Thanks Rockman and Victor for totin' my ass and giving me a chance to play in the dirt on Saturday. Congrats to to Steve Michael and his top 3 age-group finish. After about mile 10, I never saw him again. Great race Steve! ...other placers were Johnny B., and Orlando from DCRR. Todd Henderson, Cheaha RD, got an award too. Fun day!

Another great race report! I wish I could have been there, but reading your report is the next best thing because it makes me feel like I was! Kudos to you on a most excellent finish!

Great race report! I happily re-lived my race through your description.
Also thanks to all of the volunteers for making the aid stations a bright spot (especially the PB&J's) and for the posterboards of encouragement.
As far as the race goes, I plan on coming back next year. Despite the elevation gain(5359 by my Garmin) this was way better than any road run I have done.

Although it doesn't have the street cred of doing the full, I highly recommend the 1/2 as it had all of the good Christian described, and none of the long jeep roads.
