Are there any ultraRUNNING magazine subscribers out there? It looks interesting but I know almost nothing about it, and can't seem to find ANY running stores that carry it. Does anyone know of a way to get a copy without getting a full year subscription?
Or, can someone give me an idea what kinds of articles the magazine generally includes? Is it mostly just race results? Are there decent articles on physical or mental training? Injury prevention, new gear? Yada yada yada?
Any info would be great! I'd hate to drop the $30 for a subscription if it's rubbish. That's a new pair of running shorts right there!

hmmmm ... this reminds me. I wonder if myu subscription has lapsed? I don't remember getting the April issue.
I like the magazine alot. They usually have an article or two on training, one on nutrition, maybe a book review, and the rest is race reports. These are either full write-ups about the race (2 or 3 pages, not incuding the results) or a few short paragraphs by the RD (usually the smaller races). It is a no frills magazine but a great read, and pretty dang motivational for a ne'er-do-well like me. Plus, it's kinda fun to see everybody's name in print.

Are there any ultraRUNNING magazine subscribers out there planning to run Pine Mountain? I'm still tempted to subscribe, but don't want to spend the money on glossy toilet paper. If anyone has a back issue or several you're willing to part with, I'll be at Pine Mountain and would love to see it/them. Not so much during the race, but perhaps after. <insert chastizing to "HTFU">

Bryce: I don't know if you ever get up to Big Peach on Barrett Parkway but they sell Ultrarunning in their store. You could check to see if any of the other Big Peach stores sell it. You could go in and Browse!

That Big Peach must be the only place in town (incl. other Big Peach locations) that sells them. I swear I called every other running store in Atlanta a few months ago and got nowhere. Thanks for the lead!

Hmmm interesting plan of action. Better yet, you could take a roll out of every porta-potty at each race you go to...

Haha seriously at the gobble jog today, there must have been thousands of tp rolls. You get a 10K and a year of tp for 20 bucks... Pretty good. Oh, yeah maybe a little discomfort but hey, FTFU ;D

I've been a subscriber for about a year. It is a very good magazine, with lots of race recaps and a good assortment of event notifications. You should just go ahead and subscribe.
