In the Sept 2006 Issue 41 of TrailRunner magazine there is a great article about the "Grand Canyon Adventure" pg 40 and it mentions GUTS members Sally Brookings, Janice Anderson, Dave Horton, Liz Walker and John Wallace who ran the R2R2R.

I'd love to hear about the run from GUTS. The article just mentioned the run in passing. I'm curious as I'm doing my first run across the Grand Canyon this month. Is there a post or write up about the run anywhere?
Thanks!

If you're a GUTS member you can go to the GUTS Members Only section of the forum. Go to Straight from the GUT Newsletters and read the 3rd quarter newsletter for this year.......some interesting accounts of this years R2R2R. If you are going this month...be extremely careful....it will be brutely HOT!!

Thank you for the info on the r-t-r. We had a lot of fun and the articles in the newsletter were helpful.
We took it easy and our 26 mile version (including the run to the trailhead and out/back to ribbon falls) took 5:43 including breaks. The heat wasn't too bad (102 at Indian Gardens).
Dan followed it up five days later with a 5th place at the Headlands 50K and I took 13th.
Thanks again for the info! dd
