The Blue Ridge Mountain Masters 50k in November, usually the second Saturday of the month. Ron says the BRMM will definitely NOT be the second weekend 2008 as that is the national adverture racing championships, which he is also RD of.

I like the idea of having all the trail runs in Georgia in one place. Since you are doing that, I just found another trail run in GA. (I have never heard of this one - just that it is a trail run for your list.) I found it at www.trailrunnermag.com and looked at the website. It is the Trail Race for Camp Grace 10K outside of Cumming. www.reddingraceforcampgrace.org Trailrunner Magazine has an excellent race calendar. I use it almost exclusively! ;D

I ran this race this year.
It was ok, but you can't really call it much of a trail race.
It starts in a field where you run half the circumference of the field, then a short, steep climb on the edge of some woods, which then eventually dumps you into a subdivision that is in the process of being constructed.
You get to a halfway point, I guess 5K point, and then turn around for an out-n-back
It was more like urban free running than trail running, but I enjoyed it none-the-less.
Kind of a long way to go for a 10K. Most in this group would probably mosey a little further north and get crazy on some gnarly trails.

Thanks for letting me know about this race. I will update the page momentarily.
I used Trail Running Magazine's calendar as one of my resources in building the list. It looks like they did a lot of updates recently, so I'll make the necessary adjustments.
Everybody letting me know about missing races really helps me in keeping that list up-to-date and comprehensive. So, please keep it up!
A lot of people appreciate it. It's easily the most frequented page on my blog. (The interview with the Prez is up there as well, easily outpacing the other three that I have done so far.)

What about the Ranger Run 15K? Is this still on for 2008? I don't know if you can call it a true trail race as most of it is gravel road, but it is in the woods none-the-less.
not to mention it holds a special place in my heart as my wife did not feel good in 2005 and we found out she was pregnant that night.

I changed the SweetH20 date (thank you, cheetahhead).
jdog, I would consider the ranger run a trail races, however as far as I know, there is not date set yet for 2008

Y'know... this is some good content. A constantly updated trail race schedule is valuable for the runners of Atlanta and the entire Southeast really, and a good trail schedule is not easy to find on the Internet.
The one we have going here seems to be ultra races, shorter races, and some races that cross both lines.
As a way to draw more exposure to the club, perhaps breaking this content out into it's own page, and tossing a few links at it would be a smart way to garner some additonal eyeballs ...and thus, memberships. {wink}
Just puttin on the ol' thinkin' cap for a time or two so I don't wallow in the misery of Ticketmaster buying my competitor today. {sigh}
