Congrats to the MANY GUTS runners at Mtn Mist!! It was awesome to so many GUTS folks out there. It was the most beautiful day they have ever had for the race, so I hope everyone enjoyed it. And there was no mud. Wow! I hope everyone made it out "alive". I know there were several turned ankles I'd be curious to know how many people made it without falling. rest up, ;D Griz

Does falling only count while running? or can after drinking count too? I don't recall falling But I certainly tripped a lot!

What a great year to run Mist! The warm weather and dry course where a nice surprise. Dink and Suzanne once again did an outstanding job putting on the race. It was good to see Sally, Marty and Janice again. Sarah we must have missed each other. But hello anyway. If you missed this one then you missed a good year to run without busting your tail on ice. The warmer weather took its toll on alot of the runners, I myself suffered some bad calf cramping going up waterline which was my own fault for neglecting to intake salt to make up for the added loss from the heat, thankgod AS #5 had a plate full. Boy did it go down good. yea right. But it fixed my problem, gotta love the last climb to the shelter huh, I think it grew from my last time or maybe I shrunk. Sarah I didn't run without falling but then again I tripped and fell at Silver Comet last year so that isnt saying much. Who is going to Cheaha on Feb 25th? Looks like fun run. Hope to see ya there.

I had a great time even though I dropped at 17 miles...(I think that's where it was?) Janice just about talked me into hanging onto her rope but when the fuels' gone, gu just won't do by itself. Bugs are a risk of working in a school! I had a great weekend though and there's Cheaha coming up right behind us! Sunday I drove there and scoped the trail and the terrain....whew ! lots of climb! Wish I could make the trip to the falls the 5th it would be a good primer. Kudos to the Mtn Mist organizers; Dink, Suzanne all the volunteers and park people and to Him above for the beautiful weather! Who would have thought 65 degrees the end of January??

I fell once -- and that was before I sprained my ankle (doc said grade 3 but no fracture...!). Fear kept me on my feet (ok, mostly my left foot) for the next 30 miles ... except for the 15 minutes I spent sitting at AS#1 trying to figure out just how stupid it would be to go on w/ the ankle swelling up fast. In fact, if it hadn't been for Sarah coming along as I turned around to "officially" drop and embarassing me into getting my !#$ back on the trail I would have been back at the lodge long before any of you w/ a head start on the beer. It was a great day (except for that ankle thing) -- but isn't it always like that at Mt. Mist...?
Just got off the bike (rehabbing already), so I'll see y'all out there before too much longer.
