Wondering if anyone else is planning to run the Tahoe Rim Trail ultra on 7/16 (or has run it in the past and can give advice)?

Yes, I'm planning on running the 50m. Here's my advice: Sign up ASAP because it opens at midnight PST January 1, and fills quickly. Oh, and train for hills.

Thanks. Sounds like you've run it before? I've been trying to find an elevation profile and the best I've been able to do is piece it together based on info I found here and there on the website and on a few blogs. Do you have one? My training plan is basically going to be to run up and down Kenn Mtn every weekend

I haven't run it but just from reading race reports and looking at the topo map on the site, it's pretty hilly.

I ran the Twisted Ankle half a couple years ago, and I thought Becky's Bluff was hard. It looks like the stretch coming out of the Red House aid station has about double the elevation change as Becky's Bluff. Yikes. I signed up for the Twisted Ankle full marathon this year as a training run.
Btw, have you put together a training plan yet? I've done a half dozen or so marathons, but this will be my first ultra. If you have a training plan you're happy with, it would be a big help.
