The event was another fantastic one from my perspective! Well organized, well-stocked aid stations with super-friendly volunteers, talked to some cool runners during the run (a guy running with his girlfriend, a marathoning-Mom from Knoxville and two-Auburn Tigers from the unfriendly confines of Birmingham among others) and someone dialed up a fantastic fall day!
I am a little sore (but in a good way) from the run and have another year's worth of good memories from the event.
Was it just me, or was this the biggest field yet for the MMM? There looked to be quite a crowd at the start.
Cheers!
Rob

I'll echo everything above. Thanks to Kim and the GUTS crowd for an amazing MMM race. This was my second year at MMM and I intend to return every year from now on.

It was a lot of fun out there. The volunteers were great and I definitely enjoyed the myriad of "GUTS race-wrong way" signs keeping me from straying off the course. Thanks to all!

Ditto on the comments above. Thank you to the person or persons who weedwacked all the brush and nettles, especially on the long climb along the creek near the end. It made a tough course just a tad bit easier.

Thanks everyone!! The runners did an amazing job out there yesterday! I'm glad to hear y'all had a good day. : )
Rob, you are correct. This year we had 243 register, 204 start, and 195 finish MMM!!
Greg, Tom Wilson is responsible for the awesome wrong way signs. Michael, John Mollenhour did hours of trail work (including lots of tree clearing!) on the MMM course in the months before the race, but the park actually cleaned up those weeds along the creek climb.
And you are all correct about our volunteers -- BEST EVER!!! --KPP

Thanks for a great race. I ran with my wife and we gave up on any idea of a decent time about mile 2.5 and just enjoyed the trail. Had a great time. ;D

First off, Kim, you were born to be an RD - what a fantastically run event...this just keeps getting better each year! As my first true long distance trail race (and GUTS event) back in 2008 MMM chewed me up and spit me out, but left an undeniable feeling of accomplishment and I wanted MORE! The course is the star here and forces the unwary to HTFU but the other runners and volunteers make it very, very special indeed!
And hey, how about "Green Hell" as a new name for the powerline cut!
