Hello everyone, I've been doing road running for a few years and I would like to take up trail running. I do not know any trails for running in GA and was wondering if I have to be a proficient trail runner to join the club? Or can I be a newbie and join the club and learn the sport of trail running? Thank you for your response.

There are runners of all types here, so you're definitely encouraged to join. I'm fairly new to trail running myself, having only started in 2009, and there are a lot other newer runners here of all abilities.
The training runs cater to trail runners of all abilities, with a "no runner left behind" approach.

I live and run at the Chattahoochee/Cochran trails at the top end of the Perimiter. If you ever want to check out the trails there any morning let me know. usually go out around 7:00 am. Sandy

Welcome to GUTS! There are many trails out there...Red Top Mountain is close to me and the trails there are well groomed...maybe a good choice going from roads to trails?
Of course, GUTS has the group runs at Kennesaw Mtn on Tuesdays as well...runners at all levels are always welcome.

Thank you everyone for your responses, I will definately join up and start hittin' the trails. It seems like a lot of fun. I did some trail running in the Marine Corps, but in combat boots and utility uniforms so doing this in running shoes will be much more comfortable for me.
