Looking for some recommendations for a good but affordable digital camera for running. My boss has the Fuji MP and loves it. I know some of you like the Nikon Coolpix, but I have one and absolutely hate it. Something in the $150 price range (or less, of course). I'll probably be buying something in the next day or two for a little upcoming adventure.

No help here. I have an older Coolpix (I think it is called the Coolpix S2 maybe?) and I like it. Fits in my waist pack pretty good.

Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS Digital ELPH 10 MP Digital Camera
Quite small and fits in a pocket easily, quite simple, takes great photos, lots of photos and video on a single charge. $149 at Amazon.com. Need to add an 8GB card and you are golden.
I am likely going to be at GUTS training run on Sunday and can bring it if you want to see for yourself if you are going to be there.

Thanks, Nils. You're the second person to recommend that camera. Won't be at the run on Sunday. I'll check it out in stores.

Forgot to mention that I wanted waterproof, which is why I'm leaning toward the Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP 10 MP Digital Camera

I have a Olympus Stylus Tough 6000. Cannot destroy it - seriously can take pictures underwater. It's more than you want to spend though. Look at the 3000 (its a little cheaper and basically my camera - mines a couple years old)
No worries about sweat, rain, mud - I just throw it in a pocket. I make no attempt to protect the camera at all.

I'll second the Panasonic Lumix DMC-Ts1. I've got one and I really dig it. Great pictures: waterproof, shockproof. Fits perfectly into the front pocket of my hydration pack.

I suppose I'm the only guy in town running with his SLR, but I can't stand the lag of a point-and-shoot.
But that being said, I'd go for a Canon, probably the elph. Why? Because there are some firmware hacks that allow you to boost the capabilities, including doing timed intervals. So you can duct-tape it to your chest, and set it to take a picture every 30 seconds.
Maybe I'll do this on next year's ING instead of bringing the big boy.

I have been using he Olympus 1020SW (shock and waterproof). It shoots videos, has a "jitter" setting that allows you to shoot while at a solid clip and come out with a clear photo, and I have eaten it quite a few times with it in my hand and landed on it and it is still goign strong! It is small, easliy storable and quick and easy to use. David Ray gave me the suggestion on it when I asked him what he would go with if he werte to upgrade when we were talking cameras after a race last year.

I've had an Olympus Stylus-Tough 6020 for about a month now. Shockproof and waterproof (16 ft) and has a metal shutter that covers the lens when it's off. Not the smallest and lightest camera out there but it's nice to just be able to shove it into a pocket without having to put it into a case. 14 MP.
