Since the mountain bikers are a little more organized than runners in general here is a chance to join them in their work party.
We need to do our best and let the park rangers know we are an important user group so when the time comes they will listen to our input as well. If you do attend make sure they know you are a trail runner, and not a mountain biker. If you are both (well being liberal and everything we will accept you because it is the PC thing to do) but tell them you are there as a trail runner.

I just wanted to let you that SORBA Atlanta and Peachtree Bikes have teamed up to bring you a fun afternoon in the sunshine at CRNRA. Starting at 1:00pm this Sunday March 14, we will do a work party to repair some trail areas that need some TLC and Peachtree Bikes will have bikes from Specialized available for demo. This will all happen from the Paper Mill Rd / Sope Creek car park.
If you plan to work, please wear sturdy shoes -- no sandals, bring your own water, snack, and work gloves. We'll have tools, but if you have a favorite shovel, hoe, rake, or pruners, please bring them as I'm sure you'll have opportunity to use it!
For the bike demo, I believe you'll need at least your drivers license and possibly a credit card (I can't say for sure but this has been my experience in the past). The CC is just in case you don't come back with the brand new bike you rode off on!
Thanks and I look forward to seeing you Sunday afternoon!
