Date: Sunday, February 14.
This is part me putting out a challenge, and part me begging for some company during some tough training.
Coos Bloody Coos
...and it goes like this:
~ 8 miles from Woody Gap to about 3/4 way up Blood Mountain
~ 1 mile on the Duncan Ridge Trail to get to the Coosa
~ 13 miles on the Coosa Backcountry Trail
*** Loop the Coosa Twice!
~ 1 mile back along the Duncan
~ 8 miles back to Woody Gap
Total 45-48 miles depending on who you talk to...
I plan to start at Woody Gap between 5-5:30, but no later than 5:30. I will leave my house in Peachtree Corners (near 400) at 4:00 a.m. (bring headlamps)
** the hardest part will be making that second Coosa loop. The mental anguish you'll experience after looping it once and knowing you have to do it again is ALONE worth the trip.
Overcome that realization and the rest of the year is a piece of cake. {hehe} {grins} {...and stuff}
email me @ surftrip@gmail.com if yo' interested.
I'm hoping it rains. I want it to be as challenging as it can be.

The last time (and first) I did Coosa, it took me about 4 hours. I think I would have to start this craziness on Saturday

Dude. I would love to go up there with you for one of these crazy runs, but if I did this one my wife would turn me into a Bloody Valentine.
