Not 100% sure but the Atlanta Heart and Soles 5k is an ATC Grand Prix event and is most likely certified. If not, I am sure ATC would honor a result in their own 5k race. The course is as flat as you find it around Atlanta. It is a bit boring out and back course, but who runs a 5k for the scenery anyway? You can find the details on the Atlanta Track Clubs site.

I just realizes that the Chattahoochee Road Runners race has added a 5k this year. The 10k is the fastest in Atlanta because of a 1.5 mile downhill section at the end. If the 5k runs the same hill, it will be a very fast course.

You can search for USATF certified courses on their website: www.usatf.org/calendars/search/Just be sure and check the "USATF-certified course" box. The only 5K in GA that came up was this one, same day as Chattahoochee: 3/6/10 Berry Half Marathon/10k/5k Rome, GA 5 km, 10 km, half-marathon I am not sure if they require the course to be certified. Hope not. I may have to run the new Chattahoochee 5K!
