I seem to have lucked out! I put my name in the hat and won an entry into the inaugural "National College Blue Ridge Marathon on the Parkway"! Woo hoo lucky me!! I looked it up and it looks like a real race. Anyone wise to a scam like this? Will I have to buy a time-share?? Early planning wins the family schedule and this race fits. I am signing up...anyone want to car pool? Here is the link: blueridgeparkwaymarathon.com/Thanks, John in Cartersville

I might possibly sign up for this race, John. I won't know for a couple of months, though, so I'm hoping that it doesn't sell out.
If I run a marathon or ultra race once a month for six months in a row, I'll get double-star status with Marathon Maniacs (I'm a single-star entry status now). If Sweet H20 50K is cancelled for April due to the flood damage repair, then I'll want another race for that month.
I'll let you know if I sign up.

Well, I don't want to wish for a negative, but I can't be at SweetH20 on April 3. The Blue Ridge Marathon does fit...I am kinda hoping that SweetH20 moves to May.
Roanoke is supposed to be a beautiful section of the Appalachians! This might work out very well!!

I won an entry too. It looks beautiful, and tough, do your hillwork! See ya there. I suppose the usual cautions about inaugural races apply. Jason, I'm MM#191
