The volunteers were great. Lifesavers in fact. But they were also like Sirens, luring runners into the aid station with their irresistible Charms, luscious watermelon wedges, tantalizing salty snacks, smooth sports drinks and firm young cookies. I must admit that I lost two or three laps worth of time lusting after the goodies on display at the aid station table.

I really, really enjoyed that experience. Thanks to Sarah, Janice ...and all the volunteers who's names I don't know yet. I covered more miles than I ever have before ...even if it's only 1.2 miles more - it's still a personal best - and I grew just a little bit more yesterday. I know I didn't truly have the experience for this race. My 32.36 miles pales in comparison to the dudes and ladies busting 40 and 50 miles, but I had a great time. I felt like a mouse amongst masters and I was honored to share the trails with some really great runners. I don't think Rob Apple sweats. Thanks for letting me run. Thanks for a great race. Thanks for the whole damn group of people. I really had a great time: Race Report: run50miles.org/2007/08/05/race-hot-to-trot-8-hour-race/*** written as an update for my supporters of a local charity, so some race explanation was necessary.

I made out pretty good......Not only did I pull my groin muscle (Damn Bridge)...I didnt get sun burned. I managed, no...I was told to do one more lap, to finish with what I think was 33 miles. By mile 13 I think I was driving the volunteers crzy. I could never remember my lap count. It must of been the heat!!! But the best part was that I left with all the "Hot2Trot!! Cookies. Which was perfect. I got home took an ice bath and laid in bed eating cookies and drinking water all night..... ;D To those who were taking pictures.....please share!!!!

Sarah, Sally, others......thank you for all the hard work you guys put in to make this a great event. Wasn't sure if I really should've been trying this but figured I didn't have anything to lose except maybe a little pride and some barely existent dignity and besides, worst case scenario...I've had a good life and the life insurance policy is paid up...just kidding.....not about the good life....you know what I mean. I had a great time and, at the cost of a couple toe nails, reached a new benchmark in my quest to do 50 by the time I'm 50. You guys and the volunteers were great. I am always amazed by the selflessness and enthusiasm of those that make these events possible. And to my fellow runners...how they find the grace and heart, under such difficult conditions, to pass on a friendly word, "excuse me", "thank you", "good job", etc. is a humbling experience that makes me feel good about being part of this unique community. I look forward to the next GUTS event. Thanks again...............

Sarah,
I can be tempted to prepare a special batch of H2T Cookies just for you. I think the results of the 8HR run and comments show that I missed a great time. Thanks for Hosting.

Are y'all talking about the blue and green cookies shaped as animals?
...man, those we delicious if those are the ones. I could have eaten a 100 of 'em. No fluff - sugar, dye, flour and butter.
