Did anyone see the 6 foot man in the wedding dress with a mountain mist shirt out there while they were running?

Did anyone see the 6 foot man in the wedding dress with a mountain mist shirt out there while they were running? Yea, I did. I ran with him and I assume his wife, also in a wedding dress, for a few miles after the half-marathoners split off. They were promoting a wedding web business they had. Brides-something, something.com Too bad the URL was too hard to remember - perhaps it was a waste of effort for them - who knows... it was still funny. the male was so fired up, he was getting the crowd excited instead of the other way around.

Glad you enjoyed the beer. Marty and I also partook in the frothy beverage. That was our friend, Mark's, house!! Glad you got through it! We had to pace the 3:50 group. We were right on schedule until the beer....it must have given us a boost as we finished a few minutes earlier than our expected time. oops

That was Lane in the Wedding dress! He was helping me promote my personal training business. We got in last minute with some friends numbers. We thought about wearing GUTS stuff but we thought we'd get our memberships canceled! I'll post the link to the photos when I it. Even if I don't get any business from it, the experience was priceless!!
And Lane got SEVERAL marriage proposals

Marty and I also partook in the frothy beverage. Me too! Dang that tasted good! But maybe not quite as good as the meat I was given at about the 17 mile mark. The guy said he was cooking ribs but mine did not have a bone it .... just a big ol' hunk of pure heaven. The policeman at the next intersection got a big laugh out of me running by, mouth full of pork, big chunk of BBQ in my hand, sauce dripping off of my fingers, and a big smile on my face. He said I was the first runner that he had seen who was brave enough to accept that guy's kind offer of fresh-off-the-grill ribs! BTW - I'm thinking I'm going to have to add pork to my list of things to eat during the Pinhoti 100! I felt great for the rest of the race after that little treat!

just thought everyone should know that freind and fellow guts member Jon Obst placed 18th overall in the ING Marathon--I have to say holy crap yall'. i met Jon at the finish and chilled for a few before he set back out to run home- adding 10 or so more miles . I would have loved to join him, but my dress was starting to chafe. Also, Jen's company is www.totallyfitbride.com . She does bootcamp style workouts for the whole bridal party. If you know anyone getting married, take a look at it. Lane

If you go to the ING web site and watch the rotating images on the home page, there are a couple of pictures of about 7 or 8 African and African American runners, and one lone white boy tossed in the mix. I wondering who the speedster was... anyone know? Classic photo none-the-less...

Let me add to the story of Jon "Mr. 18th Overall" Obst's amazing achievement.
He and I met up for a run on Wednesday. It was supposed to be an easy 6 miler. I showed up and he had already run 24 miles. That would be a 30 mile run five days prior to him setting a PR at ING. IMPRESSIVE!
He is taking on the McNaughton 150 miler in a couple of weeks. I think, Jon's ready. ;D

Hey, way to go! I feel like I'm in the presence of giants,, knowing someone here got 18th. Let the training osmosis begin. (I'm proud to announce for this distance, for the first time I'm not the last one in my age/division!) Sorry I missed the wedding dress, but I did see Superman pass me in the first mile.
