I just wanted to pass this along. Not sure if this is a inaugural event or what, but it is a local race. ...and it is for Boy Scouts and I am all for that. This is the Troop Trot 39k in Villa Rica. If I read the website correctly, it is a three x 13k loop course to benefit Boy Scout Troop 39 in Villa Rica. July heat training for sure! (July 13, 2013). Website: www.trooptrot39k.com/HomeRegister on Ultrasignup: ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=18583John in Cartersville PS I'm not into numerology but look at this: 3x13k loops for 39k. It is Troop 39. The date is the 13th. I think the Mayans would approve....

According to the organizer's website, this race will be conducted at Clinton Nature Preserve, which is where the Scouts often camp. There have been a number of 5K races there, and they all have been XC type events. The entry fee for the 39K is - you guessed it - $39. There is also a 10K option available. Sounds like fun . /Lee

Hey Guys,
I'm the race director for Troop Trot 39K. I want to thank you for posting information about the race here.
You are correct, this is the first year of the race. I believe all the 5K races stay on the wide trails on the east side of Clinton. The Troop Trot literally uses every trail in the preserve, so you will see all the single track.
Don't forget to check out the Fast Pack option. Carry your pack and all your food and water. I'm excited to see the different UL setups that show up.
