Anyone here from Athens?
Probably a long shot considering most everyone I've seen on here is in the metro area.

Hi! I'm in Athens. I was hesitant to join GUTS, because it seemed like a lot of the evnts were centered around Atlanta, but someone from another forum assured me that there are some GUTS members from Athens. I just joined a couple minutes ago.
I'm pretty new to Athens, too, so I haven't explored many trails around here yet.

I live in Athens. I haven't been on this forum in forever and actually forgot that I was a member. You can check out Cook's Trail and the other trails around Sandy Creek Park, the trails at the Intramural Fields, and also the trails at the Botanical Gardens. I've never been to the Botanical Gardens' trails, but I've heard that they are nice.

Hi! I live pretty close to the State Botanical Gardens and have run out there a couple times since I moved here in August. Thye are nice! A little hilly and mildly technical single-track. I've also been to Sandy Creek park and definitely like it out there, but I haven't run on Cook's trail yet. A colleague recommended that I start the Cook's Trail at the Nature Center to avoid paying to get into the park. From what he told me, it's an 8-mile out-and-back. The trails at the Intramural Fields are also pretty nice. I've run those trails on my way home from work a couple times.

Yeah, definitely start at the Nature Center. It's free to park there. I'll do that or sometimes just run from downtown where I live for a nice long run.

Sort of coming in late but I'm from Athens. Live in the Winterville area actually. I am currently up at North Georgia College in Dahlonega taking classes but I'm down most weekends in the Athens area.
