Good I hope this time to actually get to talk to people. I didn't get to meet very many at SweetH20.

SweetH20 was my first. How does Chattooga compare?

It's tough to compare them because of the differences in trails and terrain and heat/humidity -my time for Chattooga last year was almost an hour slower than my time at Sweetwater last year, but it was very humid at Chattooga and that slows me down a lot. Chattooga has quite a bit of elevation change, much of it on the trail section along the river (much of the race is not along the river itself)..somewhat technical sections, and you have to make sure you understand the course because there are a couple sections that are tricky to follow the trail. But the views along the river are great and well worth the trip up! If you handled SweetH20 you'll do fine at Chattooga...

I agree with the MFRP; it is hard to compare the two courses. I ran similar times at SweetH20 & Chattooga - but i went off trail for about a mile at Chattooga. The Winding Stairs Trail in the beginning has a fun decent, followed by a tough climb back, then you spend the rest of the day on rollers. It's a fairly technical run with a lot of roots and other unstable footing. Having said that, Terri Hayes puts on a great race and this has a laid back family reunion feel. I can't wait! You'll need two handhelds or a camelback as there is 10? mile stretch between AS and it will be hot & humid at the end of June. Here's my garmin upload from last year. connect.garmin.com/activity/35985072
