Hey everyone! Having just slogged through GRR 53 miles, I am recovered and feeling the need for a new goal. Any suggestions on a first 100 miler in the southeast? I have looked at the Umstead 100 in NC but it looks a bit boring (I like trails better than fire road). Open to any and all suggestions, thanks in advance!

I've signed up for Pinhoti 100 as my first 100 on November 5. www.pinhoti100.com/It's definitely not boring. In fact, it's pretty rugged and challenging. Hope you can join in!

that one is definitely on my "maybe" list, do you know if it sells out and if so, when?

I'm not sure if it'll sell out or not, but these things seem to get more popular every year, so it's probably good to play it safe and register soon.

The Pinhoti Trail system is pretty B.A. I race the Snake Creek Gap mountain bike race on that trail every year, and love the pain that trail offers. I wish I was going to be home for the 'hundy, but I'll be out of the country again.

Hey Mike, check out the Bartram 100 in December - I don't see any registration info. yet for this year but here is the link for last year. It was my first 100 finish (I attempted Pinhoti last year but dropped at 65 miles). Bartram was really low key and relaxed and the RD and small crew were fantastically supportive. The trails are a mix of single track, grassy road, dirt/gravel road, grass field, etc. but all pretty runnable and 18 loops=100 (I know, 18 loops sounds like a lot and boring but for me it helped get me through because I only focused on finishing the current loop before thinking about the next one. Good luck! sites.google.com/site/bartram100s/
